2022-2023 COACHING STAFF BIO's

Toni Claus returns to the ZZU volleyball program with many years of experience as a player, coach and director. Toni coached and was the director for the Spanish Springs Volleyball Club in Sparks, Nevada. She also was the head coach for the 7th grade team at Shaw Middle School during the 2014 season. Her other coaching experience came as the Wilsonville High School junior varsity coach in Oregon. Toni played collegiately at nearby Eastern Washington University where she was a four year letter winner, a Big Sky All Academic selection, a team captain and a member of a NCAA Tournament team as a senior. Toni is currently the head coach at Moscow High School.

Club ZZU welcomes back Christy for her seventh season coaching for the club. Christy is a Club ZZU original from when we started in 2011. She coached for two seasons including taking the U15 team along with Ron, to the nationals tournament in Dallas, TX before taking a break to start a family. Christy brings more than 10 years coaching experience to the program. She has coached many different schools over the Palouse as well as every age level in club volleyball. Christy is very passionate about volleyball and specifically Club ZZU.

Mackenna is from Yucaipa, CA, a small town in Southern California. She played volleyball in high school, as well as club for 951 Elite and RVVC, and spent a short time playing for the University of Idaho club team. This is Mackenna's second-year coaching club, she coached for ZZU Beach this past summer, and has coached two years of middle school volleyball (Moscow and Potlatch). Mackenna graduated from the University of Idaho in May with degrees in Family and Consumer Sciences and Career and Technical Education and will receive her teaching certificate this December. Mackenna is truly passionate about the art of teaching/ coaching and love teaching kids new skills. Coaching the middle school level tends to be her favorite because this is the age where you see the most growth. Mackenna is currently the Junior Varsity coach at Potlatch High School.  This will be her second year coaching the U16 Regional A team. 

Nate is from Moscow Idaho where grew up and went to high school. After graduating from Moscow he moved down to Lewiston and attended LCSC for an Associate’s degree in Science. During winter of 2018: he played for the US Men’s Collegiate National team in Anaheim California. Currently he is a student at the University of Idaho where he studies Computer Science. At Idaho: he is a volunteer assistant for the volleyball team and plays and coaches for the men’s club volleyball team where he received all-league honors as a setter and outside hitter.

Club ZZU is excited to bring back Libby for her forth  year coaching with us. Libby has played club ball for ZZU for about eight years. She played varsity ball her entire high school career and played on the all state team her senior year. Libby is currently a Junior at LCSC majoring in Social Work and minoring in Criminal Justice. Libby is very excited to get back in the gym this season!!

Megan was a three year letter winner for Moscow High School where she earned All League, All State, and All Region honors for her Junior and Senior seasons as a middle blocker. She spent two seasons playing middle and right side for North Idaho College before moving to Huntington Beach, CA and finding her love of beach volleyball. Megan has two young daughters that she hopes to raise in the Club ZZU family.
